Family has always been a confusing concept for me, it has made me question myself, what’s a family? How does that work? When does someone decide to build one? It may be alarming to some, but this concept is so common yet so strange and interesting, in my opinion. As an orphan kid who’s lived in three different houses and families in my sixteen years am very connected to this question, what makes a family a Family?

In this project, I want to photograph different families in their home. I believe this would make people open their eyes. I want them to realize that these families can be as happy as them without fitting in the concept of “normal family”, which is just a socially accepted family. 

I want the series to be colorful, each frame has its own palette of colors, but not black and white or poor with colors. It really depends on each family’s house but I want to prevent any artificial light. The frames would also be shot in a medium shot.
