PITCH
Not long ago, I found out about the concept of “Accidental Renaissence”, which is a term to describe a digital picture that gives the sensation of a well composed painting. This has drawn my attention a lot since I’m very interested in art, especially in Baroque art. Many artists like Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, etc, have many pieces that inspired me to turn into photographs. Maybe because of the colors, or the composition, or even the level of dramatism that the piece contains, which is a characteristic that I absolutely love.
I am trying to find out how I can adapt these pieces into digital art. Can I even re-invent these pieces? Or should I preserve it as much as possible?
I want the audience to feel connected and relate to these art pieces, even if they were created 200 years ago. I want them to realize that we are still the same people, we have the same feeling and experiences.
In this series, I will pick 10 different Baroque painters and make for each painter a frame inpired by one of their pieces, like I said before, I would be inspired by the composition, colors, shadows, etc.
Every piece that I will be inspired by, will have its own camera settings. Thus I can adapt my frame to the painting. These adaptations will have a couple of features where you can clearly see that it is a modernized version of the painting itself.
